The big news coming off Game 3 between the Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies is the state of Ja Morant's knee.

The All-Star exited the game early with injury, which was pinned on one specific instance when Warriors guard Jordan Poole was seen grabbing at Morant's knee during a defensive scramble:

Klay Thompson was asked about that specific play after the game. Amid accusations that Jordan Poole had any ill-intent with the play, following a now-deleted Ja Morant tweet calling out Poole for “breaking the code,” the Warriors star had his teammate's back:

Via ClutchPoints' Mark Haynes:

“Me, personally. I've been through a tough knee injury. And I don't think there's any malicious intent from Jordan [Poole]. I don't even think he's strong enough to affect somebody's knee but we're not out there trying to hurt people or trying to club people in the back of the head on a fast break. We play the game the right way,” said the Warriors star.

Thompson's comments were in clear reference to Dillon Brooks. The Grizzlies swingman was slapped with a suspension after injuring Gary Payton II on a dangerous foul from behind while the Warriors guard was in the air going for a layup.

While it's unclear if there was truly any intent on the play, or if it was actually the sequence that injured Ja Morant at all, what's clear is that there's no love lost between both sides. The physicality and hard-nosed play has ratcheted up every game of the series. Look for that to continue in Game 4.
