Jimmy Butler has made it clear that he no longer wants to play for the Minnesota Timberwolves. In fact, he asked for a trade, but no deals have come to fruition — yet. Of course, several teams around the league are interested in his services, including the LA Clippers, who have two max contract slots for free agents in July.

According to most reports, Butler gave the Timberwolves a list of teams he'd like to be traded to back in September, with the Clippers being near (or at) the top. Where he will actually land remains to be seen.

On Monday, the Timberwolves squared off against the Clippers inside the Staples Center, resulting in a 120-109 victory for LA. Naturally, reporters were quick to bring up Butler's trade request after the game. However, the four-time All-Star is keeping a fairly tight lip.

After Monday's game against the Clippers, Butler, who scored 20 points, batted away any questions about whether he could see himself living in Los Angeles on a full-time basis — perhaps sooner than later.

“No, I'm in Minnesota for the time being,” Butler said. “I'll enjoy the sunshine for a couple days, and then if we go back there, we go back there.”

Butler, now 29 years of age, sat out of Minnesota's recent losses, including Sunday's game in Portland and a matchup against the Utah Jazz on Halloween. However, he says this situation isn't affecting him one way or the other.

“I just hoop,” Butler tells ESPN. “I play basketball. I go out there, and I try to win home or away. I think that's my job. I'm not worried about nothing — none of that. You [reporters] continue to ask those questions, but it's not going to change how I go about the game. It's not going to change how I interact with guys in this locker room. We'll be just fine.”

Butler has made eight appearances with the Timberwolves this season, racking up averages of 22.0 points on 48.8 percent shooting from the field (34.3 percent from beyond the arc), 4.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 2.4 steals and 1.1 blocks in 34.6 minutes per outing.

The Timberwolves are staying in LA and will face the Lakers next on Wednesday night. While the Lakers don't seem to be on Butler's radar, reportedly because of the presence of LeBron James, don't count anything out.
