Karl-Anthony Towns was a man possessed on Monday night as he poured in 60 in a Minnesota Timberwolves win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Not only did KAT set a new career high, but he also set the new Timberwolves franchise scoring record, a mark which he also held for scoring 56 points during the 2017-18 season. Not only that, but Towns now stands alone with the highest scoring mark by any player in the NBA so far this season.

Chris Finch gave Karl-Anthony Towns his blessing to gun for the record, too. The Timberwolves coach had a five-word message for big KAT in the fourth quarter.

The Timberwolves actually led by double-digits throughout the entire final period. But with Karl-Anthony Towns sitting at 56 points, Finch decided that KAT deserved to at least get a chance to break his own record. Towns first came in at the 8:29 mark but was subbed out less than a minute later after picking up his fifth foul.

Chris Finch then reinserted KAT at around the three minute mark with the Timberwolves up by 14 points. Clearly with the green light to pad his box score point total, Towns scored four more points en route to his 60-point night.
