Los Angeles Clippers swingman Paul George spoke on Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Anthony Edwards' potential following L.A's win over the T-wolves on Sunday.
George said Edwards has an “explosive game” and noted his abilities as a three-level scorer. The Clippers All-Star added he sees star potential in the 2020 No. 1 overall pick.

Los Angeles got the better of the Timberwolves on Sunday, with Edwards producing mixed results.
Article Continues BelowEdwards scored 23 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists for the Timberwolves. He also shot 5-for-11 from beyond the arc, though he was just 6-for-16 from the field for the contest. Nevertheless, the former Georgia product's skill set was apparent to George and his Clippers teammates. They aren't the only team to have taken notice of what the Timberwolves rookie has put together this year.
Indeed, Edwards has shown a little bit of everything this season. The 19-year-old is averaging 18.1 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists through his first 58 games.
The explosiveness sort of goes without saying. Edwards has produced some of the most notable highlight-reel jams of the year, routinely showing the ability to embrace contact and finish at the rim. He has also proven himself capable of knocking down perimeter jumpers, though his 32 percent clip from beyond the arc leaves more to be desired.
Of course, Edwards is still quite young. The raw athleticism and scoring ability seem to project well as he continues to grow into his game. In fact, a younger version of George would be an interesting template for Edwards to follow so long as he can make gains on the defensive end of the floor.
It has been a rough season for the Timberwolves and their fans. This same line has become the norm for the franchise for the last decade plus. But Minnesota can take solace knowing star players around the league acknowledge Edwards' tremendous upside.
