NBA GM's have recently come out with their concern and anger over LeBron James saying he hopes New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis would be a Los Angeles Laker.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, a league representative stated that it wasn't tampering:

“Each case is assessed on its own facts. In general, absent evidence of team coordination or other aggravating factors, it is not tampering when a player makes a comment about his interest in playing with another team’s player.”

This angered Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry, who truly believes that what LeBron James had said is tampering.

“Yes it is, why would it not be? If an executive said it, it would be tampering, t’s B.S. It’s tampering,” Alvin Gentry told  Will Guillory of The Athletic. “Should we have AD say, ‘Why don’t we trade for LeBron?’ I’m just saying, why is it not tampering if players are saying it?”

Though James will not receive a slap on the wrist with a fine, he knows he has to be careful moving forward with what he says to the press. The Lakers need another star around him, and Davis would absolutely fit the bill. A Davis-James duo would wreak havoc on NBA teams every night, driving, kicking and destroying a rim protector's hope for stopping their defense.

Davis is currently averaging 28.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, and 4.7 assists while shooting 50.4 percent from the field. The Pelicans are 15-17 on the season and are ranked 12th in the NBA's Western Conference. They will play the Los Angeles Lakers next this Friday evening.
