Following the announcement the L.A. Clippers made recently about their preseason schedule, the New Orleans Pelicans have now followed suit, releasing their four-game slate, via Pelicans.com.
The team will start the series of exhibition games of October 3rd, when they host the Chicago Bulls inside the Smoothie King Center. It will be followed up by three road games, beginning on October 6th, when they travel to Oklahoma City to go up against the Thunder, and facing the same Bulls team in their home court only two nights after. The team will wrap up their schedule with a game versus the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum on October 13th.
The preseason games will give their fans a chance to see their new roster and where their players’ conditioning are at that point. It will also be the first time DeMarcus Cousins, who the team traded for back in February, will start a year with the Pelicans. He has been in great shape and has lost a lot of weight, which allows him to be more agile.

Despite the addition of Cousins, the Pelicans still missed out on the playoffs last season with a 34-48 record. However, with a full campaign with him as part of the team, along with the key pieces added to their fold, there is plenty of optimism surrounding their playoff chances this year. It will all start in training camp and the preseason games, which will give a glimpse of what’s in store for the Pelicans the rest of the year.
