New York Knicks rookie Allonzo Trier is apparently a huge fan of Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant. The 23-year-old shooting guard called out a random top 5 NBA players list on Twitter for its omission of the reigning back-to-back Finals MVP:

Trier does have a very valid point here, and it would be hard to argue against him. Then again, the list in question does have a very formidable set of superstars on it, so I guess it just becomes a matter of preference. Nonetheless, we now all know where Trier's loyalties lie.

Speaking of loyalty, this is the exact dilemma Durant will be faced with this summer once he enters free agency. Will he opt to stay with the Warriors for another year or so, or will he decide to take his talents somewhere else?

Durant has been strongly linked to the Knicks, and it is very much possible that he ends up in New York in the offseason. Trier might just get the opportunity to play alongside one of his heroes in the very near future. Perhaps this is his subtle way of trying to recruit KD?

Trier was in action for the Knicks on Tuesday, but he had a quiet evening in a 103-98 defeat at the hands of the Indiana Pacers. The 6-foot-5 shooting guard played 23 minutes off the bench, but was only able to score seven points on a miserable 3-of-12 shooting, along with four turnovers.

Trier's next opportunity to bounce back is on Friday as the Knicks take on the San Antonio Spurs.
