The New York Knicks are expected to heavily pursue an Anthony Davis trade with the New Orleans Pelicans, but they most likely don't have the suitable assets to acquire The Brow.

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, an NBA talent evaluator says the Knicks' only major trade assets are injured power forward Kristaps Porzingis and their draft picks.

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, meanwhile, have a bevy of more assets than the Knickerbockers, which puts New York at a disadvantage in the Anthony Davis trade sweepstakes.

“The only thing of value there to New Orleans is KP and more than one unprotected first-rounders,” the NBA talent evaluator said.

Kristaps Porzingis tore his ACL last season and he has yet to play in a game this season. Porzingis will become a restricted free agent in the summer.

The Pelicans would be taking a huge risk trading Davis in a deal which brings Porzingis to The Big Easy, considering no one knows what KP is going to look like on the basketball floor when he fully recovers from the ACL injury.

Davis is a once-in-a-generation player. The Pelicans have to get the best return possible for him, and it doesn't look like New York's potential trade package fits that bill.
