The New York Knicks exploded for 143 points in their win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday. This marks the highest-scoring game in 39 years for the legendary organization.
On Nov 11, 1980, the Knicks dropped 149 points over the Detroit Pistons. Their 143-point explosion on Tuesday marks the 10th time in franchise history that they have scored at least 143 points in a regulation game.
The @NYKnicks scored 143 points in their win over the Hawks tonight. That’s the Knicks most points scored in a regulation game since Nov. 11, 1980 against the Pistons (149).

A total of six players scored in double figures for the Knicks. Rookie RJ Barrett led the way with 27 points, Mitchell Robinson and Marcus Morris dropped 22 points each, Kevin Knox and Julius Randle had 17 markers apiece, and Bobby Portis chipped in 11 points. New York was scorching hot from the field all game long. They shot 55.8 percent from the field and 46.4 percent from deep.

The Knicks have won three of their last four games. Prior to this little run, the Knicks dropped 10 straight games which pretty much buried their high hopes for the season.
Time can only tell if their string of wins is the start of something new. Their next 10 games will be against playoff contenders like the Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, LA Clippers, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Hopefully, their 143-point outburst will trickle on over to exceptional performances against the better teams. The Knicks go up against the red hot Heat next and a victory would be huge for the struggling franchise.
