The Oklahoma City Thunder have become legitimate title contenders despite their slow start into the season, and for WNBA player and NBA analyst Candace Parker, they're capable of getting into the Western Conference Finals, but there's a catch.

“If I'm in the West, I wanna avoid OKC and I wanna avoid Golden State at all cost. Obviously we've talked about Golden State's defense being down this year, but they're gonna get together in the playoffs obviously. But OKC is that team that I think is playoff ready, playoff built. Paul George is playing phenomenal. Defensively, just on the ball, they have that playoff type of game. So if they get homecourt advantage, I look for them to be in the [Western Conference] Finals against Golden State.”

Parker made several good points there. the Thunder look like they're ready to make a deep run in the playoffs. However, they haven't been a very good road team this season, as they have a 19-17 record when playing outside of Chesapeake Energy Arena as opposed to a 22-9 mark when they host their opponents.

George, one of the front-runners to win this season's Most Valuable Player award, is one of the main reasons why OKC is currently fourth in the Western Conference standings. They currently have a 41-26 record, and with 15 games left, they still have a legitimate chance of catching the Warriors for the top spot. The Thunder are just four games behind the Dubs.

OKC is no doubt one of the few threats to the Warriors' three-peat aspirations, and if they do everything right, they could see themselves as the West's representatives in the NBA Finals this year.
