Thunder shooting guard Hamidou Diallo was carried off the floor on a stretcher in the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's game against the Golden State Warriors. The injury appeared severe in nature, but it seems there is a hint of good news on the horizon for Oklahoma City fans.
According to a report from Shams Charania of The Athletic, Diallo's injury has been diagnosed as a left ankle sprain. That's still bad news, but not as bad as first expected. The former Kentucky Wildcat will undergo further medical evaluations on Thursday.

Diallo, now 20 years of age, was enjoying an increased role with the Thunder prior to this injury. In his 16 appearances with the team this season (two starts), the Queens native managed to rack up averages of 6.3 points on 47.0 percent shooting from the field (26.7 percent from beyond the arc), 2.8 rebounds and just under one steal (0.9) in 14.6 minutes per outing.
If Hamidou Diallo is ruled out for a significant amount of time, Thunder head coach Billy Donovan will likely call on Alex Abrines, Terrance Ferguson and Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot to fill in at his position. Starting shooting guard Andre Roberson is still recovering from a knee injury and will be re-evaluated sometime in December.
The Thunder — winners in four of their last five games — are off to a solid start to this season. Currently, they're holding an 11-6 overall record, which is good for the No. 2 spot in the Northwest Division. Their next shot claiming victory comes on Friday night, when they'll welcome the Charlotte Hornets to Chesapeake Energy Arena.
