Russell Westbrook has been a triple-double machine over the past several seasons, and he set another record on Tuesday night in their game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Westbrook finished with 20 points, 21 assists and 20 rebounds for the Oklahoma City Thunder, becoming the only player since Wilt Chamberlain to record a 20-20-20 stat line. The former NBA Most Valuable Player led the Thunder to a 119-100 win against the Lakers at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Remarkably, it was not the only Chamberlain record that he matched. With his epic performance, Westbrook tied Wilt for the third-most triple doubles in a single season. He now has 31 triple-doubles this season, tying the mark set by Chamberlain during the 1967-1968 campaign.

The 30-year-old superstar still has four chances to take solo third in the record book. He is actually on top of the list for the most number of triple-doubles in a season. He tallied 42 during the 2016-17 NBA season, besting the 41 of Oscar Robertson — which was set during the 1961-62 season.

Russell Westbrook is already set to average a triple-double for the third straight season. In 68 games this year, the former UCLA standout posted 23.0 points on top of 11.0 rebounds and 10.4 assists per game.

The Thunder hold a 45-33 record and are just half-game ahead of the San Antonio Spurs. Finishing seventh would mean avoiding a first-round showdown against the Golden State Warriors, who are currently on pace to finish with the best record in the West.
