Not many NBA fans would pick Dennis Schroder over LeBron James in any type of competition, but the new member of the Oklahoma City Thunder came up clutch, beating The King in a do-or-die 3-point contest for $10,000 for charity.
Contrary to the percentages, James, a career 34.4 percent shooter from deep (36.7 percent last season) missed his attempt against a career 32 percent shooter who only made 29 percent of them last season.
One shot.
10K on the line.
Who you got: LeBron James or Dennis Schröder? 🤔 😂(via ds17_FG | Instagram} pic.twitter.com/cqq0baQIul

In this case, at least charity wins when Schroder defeats the odds of his career numbers — one which he will likely brag about until the day he retires, charity or not.
Schroder saw a general improvement in his numbers during the last two seasons as a starter for the Atlanta Hawks, but will have to channel back his instincts as Russell Westbrook's backup. He still possesses blurring speed and athleticism that could help the Thunder coming off the bench.
The confidence seems to always be there for Schroder, and this shootout win against James only proves that has stayed true during an offseason that also saw the point guard win a 3-on-3 tournament in Germany.
