Despite the addition of DeMarcus Cousins to their fold during last year’s All-Star break, the New Orleans Pelicans remain a team on the outside looking in when it comes to the playoff picture in the Western Conference. Anthony Davis also continues to be part of a lot of trade rumors, which could cause some distraction to him.
In speaking with Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, David looked back on what happened to Cousins before he landed in The Big Easy, as well as Isaiah Thomas being traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers over the summer despite leading the Boston Celtics all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

“It makes you wonder: Does this organization really have my back? I've been loyal to this organization. I love it here. I love this team. I think we're moving in the right direction. DeMarcus, Rondo, some other players that are helping us, but people get judged on winning. And I want to win.
While Anthony Davis hasn't dropped any hint of displeasure toward the Pelicans' handling of him, he did exude some skepticism over front offices, in general, which could lead to some degree of concern on whether this thought might lead to future issues.
Not only that, Davis' durability remains a big question mark, alongside Cousins' future with the team.
It remains to be seen if the Pelicans will bring in more talent to provide Anthony Davis with more peace of mind. Their situation is definitely something worth keeping an eye on, and it will be very interesting to see how things will pan out for them.
