Anthony Davis turned a lot of heads inside Smoothie King Center on Wednesday night, when he was ejected from their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
During the second quarter, the New Orleans Pelicans star forward chased Ken Mauer, as he was very upset about the previous sequence, wherein no foul was called on his defender, but was whistled for a personal on the ensuing play. He was furious and could not contain his emotions, which led to being assessed with two technicals foul, and an automatic disqualification from the game.
The veteran referee was asked to give his side about his decision to eject Davis, and he made it known that he was forced to, as the 24-year-old Kentucky product continued cursing at the game officials, and even charged at him at one point.

Not known for consistently being fired up for calls that do not go his way, Davis was uncharacteristically ticked off longer than usual, and even had to be restrained by his teammates to prevent him from getting close to referees. A suspension or fine is unlikely to be slapped on him, but his early exit greatly affected his team's chances of winning on the night.
The Pelicans ultimately lost in a blow out, 120-102, and badly missed The Brow's presence on the floor. It made the defense focus more on DeMarcus Cousins, who despite posting a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds, was still not enough to give the team the victory. The Pelicans now have an 11-10 record for the season, and are currently in seventh place in the Western Conference.
