Thanks in part to the efforts of their bench, the Philadelphia 76ers won Game 6 over the Toronto Raptors and forced a do-or-die Game 7. In particular, Mike Scott chipped in 11 points, four rebounds, and two assists across 20 minutes.

Mike Scott was 3-of-4 from downtown and logged a plus-minus of +29. It was another big night for Scott. In Game 5, he had 10 points including a perfect 2-of-2 beyond the arc.

Apart from Scott, James Ennis III provided a modest but valuable spark off the bench. In 20 minutes, he had five points, eight rebounds, three assists, one block, and one steal.

Overall, it was a good showing by the whole team. In some of the previous games in this series, it seemed that Jimmy Butler was the only one who was willing to win. Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and J.J. Redick were nowhere to be found in Game 5. But in Game 6, all three scored in double figures.

As the series heads to Game 7, the bench is expected to put up the same efforts it offered in Game 6. The Raptors won't allow a blowout on their home floor. Their bench has struggled, too, but Game 7s can often create a more desperate and energetic performance from role players. Besides, it's the final game of the series. It's either “you win and continue your journey, or you go home and wait until next season.”

We will see if — in the midst of this dramatic clash of superstars — the Sixers' bench makes a significant contribution in one of the defining games of this NBA season.
