Philadelphia 76ers point guard Ben Simmons and center Joel Embiid have quickly established themselves as one of the premier duos in the NBA. The Sixers tandem provided an example of why that is early on versus the Washington Wizards.
Part of becoming a great duo is being on the same page at all times. That was certainly the case here as Simmons dropped a between-the-legs pass to Embiid for the three-pointer.

It is encouraging to see that rapport between Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid remains strong amidst all the recent changes in Philadelphia. Simmons and Embiid are the main reasons the Sixers felt so comfortable in bringing another star player into the mix. Although Butler is still getting acquainted with his role on the team, it is clear that the chemistry between the two is only getting stronger.
Both Simmons and Embiid got off to injury-riddled starts to their careers. The Sixers remained patient with their rehab and finally put the duo on full display last season. They enjoyed a successful run with Simmons winning Rookie of the Year and Embiid being named an All-Star, however, it is safe to say that expectations in Philadelphia are now higher than ever.
Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid are two of the most talented players at their positions. Not only are they exceptional in the halfcourt, but they are even better in transition. Although Butler has now been added to the mix, the Sixers will undoubtedly continue to rely on them to do the heavy lifting on offense.
