As observed, it was a mid-range jumper that he had to take as the shot clock was about to expire. For those who have seen Ben Simmons play, the 22-year-old only takes lay-ups or shots in the paint. Many believe that this is the part of the game that he has to improve, and it's worthy to note that his lack of shooting from mid-range to the 3-point area has been the subject of discussion and jokes among NBA fans and critics alike.

In their Christmas day duel with the Boston Celtics, Simmons finished with 11 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists. His Sixers teammate Joel Embiid chipped in 34 points and 16 rebounds, while Jimmy Butler had 24 points and three steals.
However, their efforts were not enough as the Celtics beat the Sixers , 114-121. Kyrie Irving led the way with 40 points with five three-pointers. He also hit a 3-pointer with under two minutes remaining to give Boston a comfortable cushion. Jayson Tatum and Marcus Morris dropped 23 points each.
