Phoenix Suns center Deandre Ayton will represent the franchise at the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery next week, according to Duane Rankin of AZCentral.

Ayton was the No. 1 overall pick by the Suns in the 2018 NBA Draft. Phoenix is hoping Ayton can bring the team some luck in this year's draft.

The Suns finished with the worst record in the Western Conference for the second-straight season in 2018-19. The franchise is desperate to get the No. 1 overall pick again so they can select either Duke stud Zion Williamson or Murray State point guard Ja Morant.

Ayton had a productive rookie season with the Suns. The 7-footer averaged 16.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists while shooting 58.5 percent from the field and 74.6 percent from the free-throw line. Ayton recorded 39 double-doubles.

Phoenix just hired Philadelphia 76ers assistant coach Monty Williams as the team's new head coach. The Suns have been a walking disaster for years now. They haven't made the playoffs since 2010 and had a winning record since the 2013-14 season.

Ayton, Devin Booker, Kelly Oubre Jr. and Josh Jackson headline the roster in Phoenix. Adding Williamson or Morant to that group would be great for the Suns, who signed Williams to a five-year deal after firing Igor Kokoskov after just one season.
