Sacramento Kings guard Buddy Hield has been in the trade rumor mill for quite a while. However, it seems like any kind of trade talks involving the sharp-shooter isn't gaining a ton of traction. Per Sean Deveney of Forbes, an anonymous general manager said that while he believes Sacramento should part ways with Hield, they aren't really actively shopping the 27-year old on the market.

“I think it makes a lot of sense, them trying to move him, start with a clean slate, they were better without him in the starting five, all of that,” one general manager said. “The logic is there. But there does not seem to be a lot of action there, not yet at least. It is not something where they seem to be shopping him very actively. Maybe it would be better to wait, to see how the season starts, but I don’t get the sense that they’re out there really laying the groundwork for a deal. They’re just not yet shopping him.”

Reports of Hield not answering the calls of his head coach Luke Walton could be an indication that he has checked out of Sacramento, mentally at least. After starting all 82 games in the 2018-19 season, Hield saw himself getting relegated to the bench midway through his first season under Walton. The former Oklahoma Sooner didn't appreciate the move and has apparently soured on his new coach.

The Bahamian earlier gave a subtle hint on the team he wants to play for next – the Philadelphia 76ers. Hield would certainly fit well with a Sixers team that sorely needs to add more three-point shooting. The 6-foot-5 guard is one of the best shooters in the league. His career 41.1 percent shooting from downtown would certainly make him a coveted piece for Philadelphia's clogged half-court offense.

However, as the most recent reports claimed, it seems like any momentum for a Buddy Hield trade has been put on pause.
