Another year, another member of the San Antonio Spurs in the annual NBA All-Star Game. This time it came in the form of power forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
The Spurs have undoubtedly been the most consistently great franchise over the last two decades. As a result, San Antonio announced on their official Twitter that they now own the longest streak with an All-Star in the NBA:

As evidenced by the video, the Spurs have a storied history of producing some of the most dynamic big men in the game. NBA legend Tim Duncan largely held it down for the city of San Antonio for 15 years as their All-Star representative. Now Aldridge has carried on that lineage of elite Spurs big men.
Article Continues BelowThe veteran power forward has come a long way since his heart-to-heart with head coach Gregg Popovich last summer. Popovich said Aldridge was candid about how unhappy he was since coming over from the Portland Trailblazers after suffering his worst two seasons since he first entered the league. Needless to say, they have managed to get on the same page since then.
With star forward Kawhi Leonard in the midst of an injury-riddled 2017-18 NA season, Aldridge has taken on a central role within the Spurs offense. He is currently averaging 22.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. More importantly, San Antonio has still managed to remain near the top of the powerhouse Western Conference.
This will be Aldridge's sixth All-Star appearance of his career. It will also be the second trip he has accrued since signing with the Spurs.
