Aside from the stellar performance of shooting guard Devin Booker, there has been little to be excited about in the Phoenix Suns 2017-18 NBA season. Fortunately, Booker has something else to look forward to once the year is over.
As an avid football fan, the young star was happy to see NFL defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh sign with the Los Angeles Rams this offseason. He congratulated Suh on Twitter and even pleaded for his new Rams jersey:
Congrats bro! Need a jersey ASAP. https://t.co/v1BCjTxYaZ

His post may have come at the expense of Suns fans who also happen to be supporters of the Arizona Cardinals. Much like the Los Angeles Lakers and Suns, the Rams and Cardinals both compete in the same division. Although Arizona has held the edge over Los Angeles in recent years, the 2017 NFL season saw a shift in power that resulted in the Rams outscoring the Cardinals 65-16 in both games combined.
However, Booker's post should hardly come as a surprise considering he is a Michigan native. Suh had started his career with the Detroit Lions after being taken with the second overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. Needless to say, he enjoyed his prime years in Detroit as a four-time All-Pro player while inspiring countless young athletes like Booker in the process.
Suh went on to sign one of the most lucrative deals in NFL history at the time with the Miami Dolphins following the 2014 NFL season. He now finds himself in a position to compete with a legitimate championship contender in the Rams. That said, do not be surprised to see if Booker makes his way to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum this season to watch Suh in person.
