Since the Phoenix Suns made the decision to part ways with head coach Earl Watson at the beginning of last season, the team has been searching for their replacement at the position. With the campaign now wrapped up, the front office has ramped their efforts in finding the next lead man on the sidelines.

Kidd has some previous ties to the organization having spent five full seasons with the organization during his Hall of Fame career. He has had some success coaching having helped lead both the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks to the playoffs in each stint.

Since being fired by the Bucks a few months ago, Kidd has remained afloat in the open market looking for his next gig in the league. Although he didn't get the gig with the Suns, his interviewing for the position could help him land another head coaching job in the league. There are a couple of intriguing positions that are open and there could be a few more this upcoming offseason.

In 4 1/2 seasons as a head coach, Kidd holds a 183-190 record while reaching the playoff three times where the team he coached finished with a .500 or better record in each of those campaigns. He has shown the ability to lead a team to success, but he has been able to break through with any organization at this point, which could play against him in potential coaching hires. Nonetheless, Kidd could soon receive significant interest to coach in the NBA once again n the near future with an open vacancy search.
