We are currently in an era of basketball where offense has exploded across the NBA. Now, it is unusual if a team scores below 100 points in a game.
Still, once in a while, there are special offensive performances that even trump what we typically see.
Take Saturday night for example, when the Washington Wizards defeated the Phoenix Suns by a score of 149-146 in triple overtime.
According to ESPN.com, the point total between the two teams represented the highest such total since 2008, and even if it took the pair of squads three extra sessions to do it, it's still a feat, no less.
Bradley Beal was the star of the show in this one, notching his first career triple-double with 40 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds, going 17-of-33 from the floor and draining four three-pointers.
Also incredibly impressive was Wizards second-year big man Thomas Bryant, who made all 14 of his field goals en route to a 31-point, 13-rebound outing.
Article Continues BelowThe strangest part? Washington point guard John Wall did not even play in this game, as he was experiencing flu-like symptoms.
The Suns didn't get any unreal performances like the Wizards, but Devin Booker did lead the team with 33 points, and rookie big man DeAndre Ayton posted 26 points and 17 rebounds.
T.J. Warren also poured in 28 points for Phoenix.
With the win, Washington moved to 13-20 on the year. It has been a very disappointing season for the Wizards, and big changes might be coming in February, but at least they will have this fun game to look back on.
As for the Suns? They saw their surprising four-game winning streak snapped and fell to 8-25.
