Bradley Beal made waves during the offseason after he sounded off on why he remains unvaccinated. The Washington Wizards star spoke out on his decision at length, which caught the attention of a certain Texas senator, Ted Cruz.

Senator Cruz name-dropped the Wizards star in a tweet in support Beal's and a few other NBA star's decisions, at the time, to remain unvaccinated.

But in a recent interview with Ava Wallace of the Washington Post, Beal certainly didn't sound like he wanted to associate himself with Ted Cruz at all.

“Don’t attach me to that,” the Wizards star said. “Because that’s not what I was trying to do. I’m not sitting here advocating for people not to get it. … I’ve never met you, I don’t talk to you, and I don’t support you or anything you do. That’s a little weird. That’s why I don’t like social media. Ted, you know damn well I ain’t rockin’ with you. You’re not going to get no cool points if that’s what you’re in it for.”

Bradley Beal has remained unvaccinated, but has stated that he is not entirely opposed to getting the jab. The Wizards star has made it clear that he isn't advocating against the vaccine entirely, just that he and his wife Kamiah have made the personal decision to hold off from getting it at this point in time.

In the meantime, Beal has abided by all the health and safety protocols the NBA has set for unvaccinated players. So far, the Wizards have looked good this season and have yet to be derailed by any COVID-related issues.
