One of Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal’s goals this season is to make the All-Star team for the very first time in his career, which is a good goal to have. However, Candace Buckner notes that Beal still has his eyes on the much bigger prize, which is to help his Wizards team keep winning.

Beal had a breakout year for the Wizards last season and was instrumental in helping them to their most wins in nearly 40 years. He was relatively healthy for the entire year as he played a career-high 77 games and averaged 23.1 points (six points more than his previous career high). He also shot 48 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Beal arguably should’ve joined his Wizards backcourt mate John Wall as an All-Star in New Orleans last season. While he didn't get in as a reserve, he was a top candidate to take up Kevin Love’s spot as an injury replacement. However, with the East roster already stocked at guard, Carmelo Anthony was chosen to take Love’s place.

If Beal can put together another season close to the one he had last year, he should have a strong case to finally make his All-Star game debut this year. Even if he gets snubbed again, Beal will apparently still be happy if the Wizards can continue to win, which is a fine mentality to have.
