It has been a tumultuous season thus far for the Washington Wizards, with the team currently three games outside the Playoffs picture in the East with a 13-20 record. Nonetheless, Wizards guard Bradley Beal remains steadfast in his belief that his team will eventually find their way.
“I’ve seen a lot,” Beal told Michael Lee of The Athletic, “since I’ve been here. As you get older, you realize the sun rises eventually. Whether it’s today, tomorrow, a couple of weeks from now. It does rise. It’s just a matter of staying with it, staying confident in yourself and just sticking to what you do. Me, I’ve just been sticking with my routine, staying positive, keeping good body language, making sure that my teammates see me do it and just encourage them to continue to do it. I just try to keep my head up, keep it high. We know we’re winners. We’re all winners. Sometimes, it don’t go our way, but we’ve still got to do what we need to do.”
The 25-year-old All-Star did not deny that the Wizards are currently going through a rough patch. However, he is adamant that they possess the tools necessary to overcome these hurdles.

But we keep saying, ‘We can turn it around.’ And I firmly believe that,” Beal said. “But we’ve still got a long way to go. Keeping guys together, keeping us with positive spirits. That’s what we have to do. It’s not going to be easy. It’s tough. But we’ve got the guys in here who can do it. I put my faith and trust in myself and my teammates to do it.”
For his part, Beal has been nothing short of spectacular for the Wizards this season. On Saturday, the 6-foot-5 guard put up a triple-double in a triple overtime victory against the Phoenix Suns. He notched 40 big points (on 17-of-33 from the field), four three-pointers, 11 rebounds, a career-high 15 assists, and one block in 54 minutes of action.
Beal has been pivotal in keeping the Wizards afloat, and it appears that he will have his work cut out form him for the remainder of the campaign.
