The Washington Wizards are listing All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal as questionable to face the New York Knicks on Saturday.

Beal, who left Thursday's loss to the Detroit Pistons, is dealing with soreness in his lower right leg. The Wizards star underwent an MRI and the results came back clean, according to Washington head coach Scott Brooks:

If Beal doesn't play on Saturday, his consecutive games played streak will end at 194.

In 30 games this season for the Wizards, Beal is averaging 27.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 6.7 assists. The two-time All-Star is shooting 43.6 percent from the field, 31.7 percent from beyond the arc and 82.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Wizards are only 9-21 on the season. Washington isn't expected to make the playoffs, so the team should be cautious with Beal's health moving forward.

Beal signed a two-year, $72 million contract extension with the Wizards before the season started. He is now guaranteed $130 million over four seasons. Beal's new deal with the Wizards contains a player option for the 2022-2023 season. The sharpshooter would be eligible to sign a five-year, $266 million contract with the Wizards in the summer of 2022 if he declines that player option.

Beal averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists last season for Washington while shooting 47.5 percent from the floor, 35.1 percent from the 3-point line and 80.8 percent from the charity stripe. He’s the best player on the Wizards since All-Star point guard John Wall is likely going to miss the entire season recovering from his Achilles tear.
