It was reported on Saturday that former Notre Dame basketball player Cam Biedscheid had been tragically shot and killed in St. Louis. Washington Wizards superstar Bradley Beal was one of the first to react to the death of Biedshied as the All-Star guard took to Twitter to share his grief.

Biedschied played one season with Notre Dame where he averaged 6.2 points in 17.4 minutes per game. He left the program after just one season and he eventually landed with Jacksonville State. Biedschied played just five games with the Gamecocks, putting up 6.0 points in 15.8 minutes of action.

It was renowned NBA skills coach Drew Hanlen who first made the announcement of Biedschied's death on social media. Hanlen provided a bit of a preview of Biedschied's basketball career, including how he used to work out with Biedscheid and Bradley Beal when both players were still in high school (h/t Chris Rosvoglu of The Spun):

It's a tragic day not only for Bradley Beal but for the world of basketball as well. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Cam Biedscheid. May he rest in peace.
