If John Wall had his way, the playoff-sensation “Stars & Stripes'” uniforms would be here to stay.

In fact, the newly-re-signed All-Star point guard intends to lobby to not only keep them under the new direction of Nike as the official outfitter of the league but to make them the staple of the franchise from here on forward.

“We need to make those as the home ones,” John Wall said in a broadcast of CSN Mid-Atlantic last week (via The Washington Post), after signing a gargantuan extension. “I’m gonna try to push for that. I don’t know if I can make that happen, but I’m gonna really try, because those are the dopest white ones. I think they should make stars and stripes with white and red, [home] and away.”

Wizards fans not only embraced but sold out these playoff-edition patriotic jerseys, buying them completely out of stock before the start of the postseason.

The team indeed confirmed that these particular ones will not be part of this upcoming season, given that the decisions on color choices and design are made well prior to the start of a season (12-18 months), but could ultimately consider a return for them the following season, according to Scott Allen of The Washington Post.

But regardless of this, Wall is still hyped about the new uniforms, which are made out of recycled plastic and will dry 15 percent faster than prior iterations — a feature many players will surely appreciate.

“Dope,” said Wall when asked about the new uniforms. “They’re so much lighter, so much lighter I feel like I didn’t even have a jersey on. In the past, I would have to change jerseys at halftime because I sweat so much. This one I’ll be like, I’m cool. They’re dope.”
