The Washington Wizards have been the biggest disappointment so far in the first three weeks of the 2018-19 season. An anonymous NBA scout said that this trend will continue until the end of the regular season, per Michael Lee of The Athletic.

Washington also started out slow in the 2016-17 season, but were eventually able to turn things around and finished with the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards then came within one game of reaching the Eastern Conference Finals, but ultimately bowed out to the Boston Celtics in seven games.

But that was then and this is now, and this particular scout doesn't think the Wizards' fortunes will turn around at some point this season, unlike what they did two years ago. He also made a bold statement that Washington will not make the postseason.

An NBA scout who has observed the Wizards recently called them the worst team he’s seen all season, given its shoddy defense, abysmal body language and nonexistent effort. Though the Wizards bounced back from a similarly dreadful start two years ago in Brooks’ first season, reaching Game 7 of the conference semifinals, the scout wasn’t optimistic that this team was capable of a repeat. “April 9,” he said, mentioning the last day of the regular season. “That’s it for these guys.”

The Wizards are currently 1-7 to start their 2018-19 season and have been flat out abysmal, especially on defense. They rank 29th in the league in defensive rating and are giving up the most points per game so far this season at 123.9. Their offense, on the other hand, isn't bailing them out either.

While the stats prove just how bad Washington is right now, there appears to be internal strife inside the locker room as players are doing a lot of finger-pointing and blaming for the team's early-season struggles. The team just looks lost out there on the floor, and it appears like they don't want to play with each other.

This Wizards situation is slowly getting out of hand. It's getting so bad that it's challenging the Jimmy Butler saga  and what is happening in Cleveland as worst of the year.
