Wizards rumors: Washington front office ‘fans’ of this non-Cooper Flagg star in draft
He believes getting Wall back playing alongside fellow All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal will make the Wizards a huge problem around the league next season, per Chase Hughes of NBC Sports.
With Washington getting the invite to Orlando once the 2019-20 NBA season resumes, the Wizards announced that Wall will not make his return this July. The Wizards are likely playing it safe with regards to the former Kentucky standout. Nonetheless, it appears like Wall is ready to make his return at any point now.
Wall has missed the better part of the past two seasons because of various injuries, with the most recent one, a torn Achilles, being the injury that has kept him out for the entire 2019-20 season. The 6-foot-4 guard last played in the NBA on Dec. 26, 2018, and only ended up playing 32 games for 2018-19. He also experienced an injury riddled 2017-18 campaign, where he only played half the season.
Prior to his unfortunate luck with injuries, Wall was one of the best point guards in the league. Turning 30 this September, the former No. 1 overall pick is poised to prove that he still belongs in the elite class of floor generals in the NBA.
The Wizards are certainly looking forward to having their All-Star guard back. Bradley Beal is in the middle of his prime. If Wall is indeed able to return to his former self, then maybe Isaac Bonga's words may ring true.
