Kyrie Irving missed the Brooklyn Nets' practice on Tuesday due to New York's COVID-19 vaccine protocol, but despite that, Steve Nash has no plan to move their training out of the city just to accommodate the star point guard.

The Nets conducted their first practice in Brooklyn after their training camp in San Diego, where Irving was a full participant. However, as mentioned, he wasn't able to join the team in their return home since New York's mandate requires players and athletes to have at least one shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in order to play and participate in practices in the city.

“No, this is our home, this is where we're going to practice and we have almost a whole group,” Nash said when asked about possibly moving the Nets' trainings out of New York for Irving, per ESPN. “So that's a positive, and we're just working at getting better every day and focusing on the things we can control.”

Kyrie Irving has been the face of the reported anti-vaccine push in the NBA, with several rumors linking him to spreading a conspiracy about the vaccine. The Nets star has remained mum about his vaccination status, asking people to respect his privacy, but the issue has certainly been problematic for Brooklyn.

For what it's worth, while Steve Nash has no update about Irving's status and when he'll be back, he expressed his support for the superstar guard and his decision. Nash also shared his confidence that they will be able to find a resolution sooner rather than later.

“I'm not really worried about anything,” Nash said on not having Irving during Tuesday's practice. “We're just trying to work every day. We came in today and had a great practice and we'll do the same tomorrow, and that's kind of where I leave it.”

It's still unknown what Irving will do regarding his COVID-19 vaccination. Nonetheless, he won't be able to play at home if he doesn't get it and could lose $381,000 on every game he would miss.
