The NBA season just keeps getting exciting with each game. On Sunday afternoon, the Brooklyn Nets took on the Detroit Pistons in a tough showdown, and the Nets escaped with a victory after a crucial game-winning shot by Spencer Dinwiddie during the final seconds of the fourth quarter.

There are many things amazing about this shot. To begin with, Dinwiddie was tightly defended by Ish Smith, who was determined to stop the Nets guard from driving inside for an easy layup. To lose Smith, Dinwiddie cleverly used a pump fake to throw his defender up in the air for an off-balanced floater.

The shot wasn't an easy one and he could have just called for someone to get open for the pass. Another amazing thing about the shot was that Andre Drummond played good defense as well but it still wasn't enough.

Dinwiddie spent his first two seasons in Detroit but was used sparingly, averaging 13.3 minutes over 46 games played. He's been a pleasant surprise to the Nets this year as he was able to step up his game to compensate for the absence of the then-injured D'Angelo Russell and Jeremy Lin.

More impressively, he has developed a knack for taking — and making — clutch shots. This game-winner over the Pistons isn't the first for Dinwiddie this month as he also played the role of the hero in a game versus the Hawks.

The Nets have fared well this season despite missing their top two guards early in the season — and for a good chunk of games. This win against the Pistons will most likely give the Nets the confidence they need to continue rebuilding throughout the year. Hopefully, the Nets can maintain this success with a win over the Thunder on Tuesday.

Dinwiddie is averaging 13.2 points and 6.5 assists per game this season for the Nets.
