Gil Brandt made Adam Schefter's controversial Tweet in regards to the tragic death of Dwayne Haskins look rather mild with his incredibly insensitive comments on NFL radio. Brandt, a former football executive, was asked about Haskins following the devastating news. Brandt responded with some rather disgusting comments.

“I hate anytime anybody is killed or anybody dies, but he was a guy that was living to be dead.”

Yes, Gil Brandt actually said those words about Dwayne Haskins on the day his death was announced. There really is no good way to explain it. Unfortunately, Brandt wasn't done sharing his thoughts.

“It was always something (with Haskins).”

And to cap it all off, Brandt blamed the tragic incident on Haskins.

“Maybe it he stayed in school a year he wouldn’t do silly things [like] jogging on a highway.”

The sports world reacted to Brandt's disturbing take on Haskins's death.

Dwayne Haskins will be remembered as an exceptional athlete, but people forget that he was more than just that. Haskins was a son, brother, friend and more to many others. Gil Brandt makes the mistake of just remembering him as an athlete.

Myron Medcalf of ESPN summed it up extremely well.

“A reminder to everybody: You are not your job. Dwayne Haskins was somebody's son, partner, homie, teammate. And he was also a human being. At my buddy Ed's memorial, we only talked about how he had made us feel. My heart goes out to the folks with those memories of Haskins today.”

Dwayne Haskins was 24 years old. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
