Former Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore turned down workout opportunities with the San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans this week, per Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk. Both teams are struggling with their quarterback depth due to injuries, so they could benefit from signing an 11-year veteran like Moore.

Moore was undrafted in 2007, but he was courted by a few teams before he ultimately signed with the Carolina Panthers. He spent four seasons with the Panthers before spending his last seven with the Miami Dolphins. The emergence of Ryan Tannehill brought Moore's days in Miami to a close.

The 49ers have officially lost Jimmy Garoppolo this season to an ACL tear. The team has decided to promote practice squad quarterback Nick Mullens to back up C.J. Beathard. Reports say the 49ers will also bring in Tom Savage, Kellen Clemens, T.J. Yates and Matt Simms for workouts, though there are no imminent plans to sign anybody. Meanwhile, the Titans have signed former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Austin Davis to combat injuries to Marcus Mariota and Blaine Gabbert.

Moore hasn't officially announced his retirement, so he may just be waiting for the right opportunity. He suffered a foot injury last year that caused him to miss the remainder of the 2017-18 season. The 34-year-old has thrown for 45 touchdowns and 6,938 yards in his career. He has also thrown 35 interceptions, but he clearly has the highly coveted experience NFL teams want right now.

Moore hasn't released a statement on his decision to decline workouts. If quarterbacks continue to go down this year, he may get a few more calls before the season is up.
