In a rare moment for football fans everywhere, Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes is just like the rest of us for Day 1 of the NFL Playoffs – a spectator. After seeing Taylor Heinicke and the Washington Football Team hold their own against Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Mahomes tweeted out what everyone was thinking.

Washington's quarterback situation has been muddled throughout the entire season, and their Wild Card game was no different. Veteran starter Alex Smith was ruled out of their tilt with a nagging calf injury, pushing little-known Taylor Heinicke to start in the game of his life. But somehow, some way Heinicke has put up a fight.

In what seemed like a certain 4th down, Heinicke pulled off a spectacular rush all the way to the end zone for a touchdown.

The score put them just a field goal away from taking an improbable lead against the heavily-favored Bucs side. A Washington win would just about blow everyone's minds, especially against Tom Brady in a postseason setting.

Regardless of the outcome, the Washington Football Team is playing with house money. Nobody outside of the DMV area had them pulling it off, but they battled to keep it close throughout. Mahomes seems to share the same sentiment for D.C.'s emergency starter.

The Washington Football Team still have their best football ahead of them. With young stars such as Chase Young and Terry McLaurin, they have a lot to build off for next season. Having them get postseason reps against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers can only expedite the process for them in building a future contender.
