It looks like the Los Angeles Rams are getting a bit of help from the wife of left tackle Andrew Whitworth in their bid to limit the number of San Francisco 49ers fans in the NFC title game. The problem is, Niners legend Joe Staley is fighting against them.

To recall, the Rams recently made a desperate attempt to hinder 49ers fans from purchasing tickets for the Conference Championship at SoFi Stadium next weekend. They had a warning that public sales of game tickets “will be restricted to residents of the Greater Los Angeles region” and that orders outside the region “will be canceled without notice and given refunds.”

However for those who have already purchased a ticket but won't be able to go in the game, Whitworth's wife, Melissa Whitworth, tweeted out that she's willing to buy the tickets from them just so they won't sell it to 49ers fans.

Joe Staley saw the tweet, though, and decided to take matters into his own hands to help the 49ers. He basically copied and pasted Melissa's tweet, only changing the word “other” to “own.”

Looks like there'll be a bidding war for 49ers-Rams tickets? That's a good recipe for scalpers right there.

All jokes aside, the Rams certainly don't want to see a repeat of what happened in Week 18 when a strong 49ers contingent headed to SoFi Stadium and made it like the homecourt of the San Francisco franchise. With that said, LA fans certainly need to step up.
