Clemson Tigers star quarterback and projected 2021 No.1 pick Trevor Lawrence is set to undergo shoulder surgery after working out for NFL teams next week.

Lawrence, who is the consensus top pick among draft experts, has the NFL world buzzing with excitement–and no more so than the Jacksonville Jaguars who own that coveted number one selection.

He was a three-year starter at Clemson and led them to one National Championship. He threw for 10,098 yards and 90 touchdowns with only 17 interceptions in 40 games in a Tigers uniform, as he has been heralded as a “generational talent.”

The Jaguars and new head coach Urban Meyer, who won a couple of NCAA titles himself with Ohio State and Florida, should have no issue picking him as their NFL quarterback of the future even despite the surgery.

Lawrence opted to work out for teams instead of participating in Clemson's pro day next month, which would allow him to hopefully recover by the time NFL camps roll around.

The Clemson star and Coach Meyer should get along rather nicely, and the Jaguars–who finished 1-15 in 2020–can look forward to having him under center for years to come and hopefully put an end to their string of subpar quarterback play.

Trevor Lawrence should become an instant highlight reel and will have lots of eyes on him at his NFL Draft workout next week, but unless teams make a monumental offer to the Jaguars, he will be suiting up in the state of Florida come September.
