Dak Prescott is in the midst of a monster year with the Dallas Cowboys, and one of the best seasons of his career could earn him a substantial raise in the offseason.

Both Prescott and the Cowboys “are highly motivated to secure a long-term extension this offseason that … will make Dak one of — if not the — highest-paid NFL QB,” reported Bleacher Report's Jordan Schultz on Thursday morning.

“He's going to get between 55 and 60 million,” the insider said on Speak on FS1. “We've already seen Joe Burrow get that 55 number. Dak Prescott has an opportunity to reset it. I think the floor is around 55. Remember, both sides highly motivated. And don't forget, he has a no-trade and a no-tag clause, he has all the leverage. I was just at owner's meetings in Dallas, there is no question that both Dak and Dallas, Jerry, want to get this done.”

Prescott has been phenomenal for his team this season, leading the NFL with 30 touchdown passes to go with just seven interceptions. He's third in quarterback rating (104.2), third in completions (353), fifth in yards (3,892) and fourth in completion percentage (68.4).

The MVP candidate has been a catalyst of the team's 10-5 record in the NFC East.

“I think Dak’s the best he’s been in his career,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted. “I think if you’re going into this part of the season in the NFL and your quarterback is playing this well, you’ve got an outstanding chance to come home happy. He’s the reason for my No. 1 highlight.”

Coming off a league-leading 15 interceptions in 2022, Dak Prescott has been a completely new player this year.

“Over the last eight games, 25 total touchdowns, two picks, he's playing like an MVP, he has an opportunity to win the Super Bowl,” Schultz explained on Thursday. “He has earned it. And we don't see great quarterbacks go to free agency. If he doesn't get paid, he becomes a free agent after next season at around 31-years-old. That's not gonna happen.”

There seems to be little doubt that a massive contract extension will be coming to keep Dak Prescott in Dallas for the foreseeable future. But first, player and club will be looking to bring a Super Bowl to the city in 2024.
