Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Grady Jarrett is set to become a free agent in March, but it doesn't appear that the Falcons are going to let him go anywhere.
Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff said on Wednesday that bringing back Jarrett is the team's top priority this offseason.
“We're working diligently on Grady Jarrett,” said Dimitroff, according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com. “It is our focus and will continue to be our focus right now. Confident that that's going to get done. He will be with us.”
Dimitroff also mentioned that there is a possibility of Atlanta placing a franchise tag on Jarrett.
Jarrett is coming off of a 2018 campaign in which he registered 52 tackles, six sacks, and three forced fumbles in what was the most productive season of his career.

He played in 15 games during his rookie campaign, finishing with 24 tackles and a sack.
The following year, Jarrett became a full-time starter along Atlanta's defensive front, recording 48 tackles, three sacks, and a fumble recovery. Then, in 2017, Jarrett logged 55 stops and four sacks.
The Falcons won just seven games this past season and did not look all that competitive at any one point of the year. Their playoff absence ended a short streak of two consecutive playoff appearances, spearheaded by a trip to the Super Bowl during the 2016-17 campaign. Of course, the Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in a devastating loss to the New England Patriots in that game.
