The Atlanta Falcons have a number of voids to fill on their roster this offseason. It appears they may be looking to bring in Georgia wide receiver Mecole Hardman.

The Falcons are set to host their own local Pro Day at Flowery Branch prior to the 2019 NFL Draft. According to Jason Butt of The Athletic, Atlanta is seriously interested in Hardman:

Source tells The Athletic ATL that UGA CB Deandre Baker and WR/RS Mecole Hardman will be at the Falcons’ local pro day on April 5. Baker is a projected first-rounder. Heard the Falcons have a strong level of interest in Hardman.

The Falcons interest in Hardman is hardly surprising. They have made a habit of drafting offensive playmakers where they can get them in recent years. There is no question that Hardman certainly fits that prototype.

Hardman established himself as a bonafide playmaker during his time at Georgia. He finished his career with 60 receptions for 961 yards and 11 touchdowns. However, his biggest impact came as a return specialist as he corralled 39 punts for 592 yards and a touchdown. He also tacked on 875 yards off 35 kick returns.

It is no secret that Atlanta takes pride in its high-powered approach on offense. Unfortunately, this group suffered a bit of a setback following an underwhelming 2018 campaign.

A player like Hardman would undoubtedly help maintain their solid stable of playmakers they have accrued in recent years.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see if they choose to bring in Hardman as opposed to filling the other needs on their roster.
