The Atlanta Falcons, following their second straight loss, are 1-3 at the quarter mark of the season. Despite an abundance of talent on both sides, the Falcons simply aren't getting it done; their season has seemingly gone from hopeful Super Bowl contenders to hopeful to hit .500 by the midseason mark.
Head coach Dan Quinn's post-game press conference exudes that notion. When asked if his team needs to make radical changes for the last 12 games, he didn't wholly disagree with the use of the word radical. To turn it around, changes must be, well, you know the word.
“When you’re not performing well, you look at everything… We’re disappointed just like the fans are,” said Quinn.
Quinn simply obviously doesn't like where his team stands after four games.
“We’ve been through one quarter, and where we sit is 1-3,” said Quinn. “Not acceptable for the standards that we’ve set for one another. We intend on getting that fixed. It’ll take work to do that, but that’s what we intend on doing.”
Some may connect Atlanta's woeful start to Quinn. Though once an NFC Championship-winning head coach for the Falcons, he's lost his fair share of supporters as of late. That could be linked to firing both of his coordinators, swapping them out then taking over defensive play-calling duties — while the defense fails to show improvement.
Nonetheless, Quinn and the Falcons need to turn it around soon. Their first opportunity to do so comes next week against the Texans in Houston. If he doesn't get a win, he may be a part of the radical changes.
