Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan has set the record straight about his rumored desire to leave the team and have a Matthew Stafford-like offseason.

Put simply, there is no truth to the talks about Ryan demanding a trade away from the Falcons, adding that he loves his situation in Atlanta despite reports saying otherwise.

“False. I think it’s ridiculous,” Ryan said of the trade demand rumors, per The Athletic. “I don’t know where it would have come from. … I’m giving you a credible source right here, that’s just not true.”

For what it's worth, talks about the Matt Ryan trade demand rumors started when a report last Sunday claimed that he “wants out of Atlanta” in hopes of a “Matthew Stafford offseason.” Stafford was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in the offseason, and the deal worked well in his favor after their hot 3-1 start with wins over the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

As for the Falcons, Ryan and Co. are 1-3 on the season–with their lone win coming in Week 3 against the New York Giants. They lost to the Philadelphia Eagles and Buccaneers by an average margin of 24.55 points.

Despite the struggles, though, Ryan has no qualms about his situation and even pointed out that he is happy with the team, the coaches and the talents they have.

“I feel fortunate to have been here for 14 years. I really love it here, love the organization, like the new coaching staff, like what they’re about, feel like we have a good nucleus of players and we can win now, and I’m excited about that,” Ryan added. “I don’t know where that report came from. It’s completely false.”

The Falcons will play the New York Jets in London next. Hopefully it can be the catalyst the team needs to get back to the right path and their winning ways.
