The Atlanta Falcons have become involved in a highly scrutinized situation with All-Pro wide receiver Julio Jones choosing to not to attend team workouts up to this point in the offseason. What has instead caught much attention has been his decision to workout and train with soon-to-be-inducted Hall of Fame wideout Terrell Owens.

This has tossed the notion around that Owens may be contributing to Jones' decision to remain to go this route this offseason with reports that the franchise isn't too fond of his relationship with him. The 44-year-old has finally chimed in on the situation by stating that he has had no influence on the Pro Bowl wide receiver, claiming that all he has done is train with him this summer according to Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report.

“I have no idea where all of this is coming from,” Owens told me this week. “I have nothing to do with Julio except training. This is the media trying [to] create something that's not even there. It's very unfortunate. What possible reason would they have to create that narrative?”

Much of this talk has likely come off the fact that Owens has a well-documented past that has seen him have some internal conflict with several of the teams that he played for throughout his illustrious career. He has been one of the most outspoken players that the Falcons believe could be rubbing off on their star wideout to make the decision to sit out the offseason workout.

However, this simply lies with the matter that he is desiring to get a pay raise. He is currently the eighth-highest paid wide receiver in the league after several other prominent players at the position such as Sammy Watkins, DaVante Adams, Mike Evans and Jarvis Landry all received higher average pay than him.

The focus is now on the Falcons to get a new reworked deal done with the 29-year-old that compensates him for being the elite talent that he has shown to be throughout his career.
