Through his first nine seasons in the NFL, Buffalo Bills Pro Bowl running back LeSean McCoy has established himself as one of the premier players at his position in the league.

However, there is no shortage of motivation from him to showcase that he has more to prove on the field despite becoming just the 31st player in NFL history to reach 10,000 career rushing yards last season. In fact, McCoy wants to prove all the doubters wrong that doesn't believe he still can perform at an elite level moving forward in his career, according to Darin Gantt of Pro Football Talk.

“I have more to prove,” he said, via PennLive.com. “It’s just like, ‘How long can he do it? How long can he keep being productive?’ And that drives me. It really does.”

McCoy is nearing that mark of being 30 years old where it has become the notion that once a running back hits that age, his production dips where his best days are behind him. He clearly has no plans to experience any dipping in his performance on the field as he is ready to prove that he can still be an elite-level running back.

These latest comments come shortly after he stated that he wants to hit 12,000 career rushing yards, which he is 1,918 rushing yards away from reaching that career milestone entering his 10th season. What has been most impressive is that McCoy has yet to display any drop off in play as he's coming off a campaign where he finished fourth with 1,138 rushing yards and six touchdowns while playing in all 16 regular season games. It also marked his fourth 1,000 rushing yard season in the last five years, and the sixth of his career.

This strong mindset from McCoy could help fuel him putting together yet another highly productive campaign that clearly proves he's still one of the game's best running backs.
