Aside from being one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks today, Russell Wilson is also known for professing his faith, especially on social media. But on Tuesday, one of his usual inspirational tweets was flooded by fans who want him to join the Chicago Bears.
This comes after the Bears placed their franchise tag on wide receiver Allen Robinson, which is reportedly around $16 million. With the team securing the services of one of the best receivers in the league, their fans were soon all over Wilson’s mentions to try to recruit the Seattle Seahawks quarterback to join the Bears.
Some fans were direct in their attempts to lure the 32-year-old signal-caller to Chicago.

Meanwhile, another fan took Wilson’s tweets about God and connected it to the Bears’ decision to franchise-tag their top wide receiver.
Oh cause A-Rob just got tagged?

Wilson likely didn’t have Chicago’s decision to franchise-tag Robinson in mind when he wrote the tweet. However, the Bears are one of his rumored preferred trade destinations along with the Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, and Dallas Cowboys.
The Bears are also reportedly prioritizing a trade for the seven-time Pro Bowler in the offseason. In 2020, Wilson played all 16 games for the Seahawks, completing 68.8% of his passes for 4212 yards with 40 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Robinson, meanwhile, had 102 receptions for 1,250 receiving yards and six touchdowns last season for the Bears, even though the team did not have stability at quarterback. A pairing of Wilson under center and Robinson as one of his targets should make for an exciting Chicago offense, and their fans are doing everything they can to help make it a reality.
