Clark had been a project player for the Bears after he went undrafted following a basketball career at USC. Although they were hoping to use his pedigree to develop him into a bona fide pass-catcher, plans have been delayed with his latest setback.

They will now be relying on a mere six tight ends to fill the void; Jimmy Graham, Demetrius Harris, J.P. Holtz, Jesper Horsted, Eric Saubert, and rookie Cole Kmet. As a result, it is safe to say that any potential plans to feature a heavy dose of two tight-end packages are still intact.
Of course, the biggest names in this tight end group are Graham and rookie Kmet. Graham is what the Bears were hoping they could develop Clark into as a former basketball player that made the successful transition to the NFL. Meanwhile, the arrival of Kmet as a second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft gives them a long-term option to progress behind him.
Kmet has already admitted his fandom of Graham as a kid when he used to wear his New Orleans Saints jersey. He will now have the opportunity to play alongside him for the Bears. Of course, they will first need to find a way to get an adequate amount of reps in training camp.
