In the first game of the 100th season of the NFL, fans were treated with a relatively dull game. It was the Green Bay Packers coming away with a 10-3 victory over their division rival, the Chicago Bears.

And one person who wasn't too happy about the offensive performance by the Bears was head coach Matt Nagy. He referred to the offense scoring just three points as “ridiculous.”

“Obviously unacceptable,” Nagy said per Curtis Crabtree of Pro Football Talk. Starts with me, so this… I just told the guys in there this is not who we are. I was proud of our defense. I thought they played their ass off tonight. Offensively, not good enough. And we’re going to fix it. Our guys know that.”

Ending with just 254 total yards on offense and three points isn't something the 2018 Coach of the Year wants out of his team. It says a lot about the team's offense when the only time the fans cheered was for the kicker making a 38-yard field goal.

A lot of the offensive inefficiency came from how Nagy was balancing the play-calling for his quarterback, Mitchell Trubisky.

“We ended up throwing a lot more than (rushing). And for whatever reason we did, that’s not what we want.”

Trubisky ended up throwing the ball 45 times in the game, and that significant usage of the third-year quarterback wasn't quite what they had in mind in terms of their gameplan. Matt Nagy will certainly be hoping this will be the last time his offense looks this out of place.
