The city of Chicago rejoiced on Friday when news broke that Chicago Bears head coach Matt Nagy is giving up play-calling duties to offensive coordinator Bill Lazor.
This is a move Bears fans have been calling for weeks since Nagy's offense is one of the worst in the NFL.
Nagy, who won the 2018 Coach of the Year Award in his first season with the Bears, told Chicago reporters the decision to give up play-calling duties was not easy at all.

“I'm excited to let Bill take this over and he has experience in this role. I think he's gonna do a great job. I'd be lying if I said this was easy. It's not easy. It's one of my favorite parts of coaching. I love calling plays.”
The Bears started the season at 5-1. However, they have lost three straight games and are now 5-4.
Chicago currently ranks 29th in total yards per game, 31st in yards per play and 32nd in rushing yards per game, per NFL.com. The Bears are also 31st in the NFL in third-down percentage. The offense hasn't looked better with Nick Foles at quarterback over Mitchell Trubisky, who was benched in the second half of Week 3 against the Atlanta Falcons.
The Bears will host the Minnesota Vikings in Week 10 on Monday Night Football. Nagy is actually 4-0 against the Vikings as Chicago's coach, so it's interesting he gave up his play-calling duties for this game.
